Step-by-Step Creation of a Web Site Header

Using Macromedia Fireworks™

| First, create a simple rectangle background |
|
|
| Then add another smaller rectangle with "Wood3"
pattern as a fill |
|
|
| Then add an object roundness of 45: |
|
|
| Next comes an Inset Emboss filter with a depth set to 4, a
shadow of 3 and 135 degree "lighting": |
|
|
| Add a 70% sandpaper texture filter: |
|
|
| Using the Text tool add text in the Playbill font (and our
bonus graphic of the longhorn): |
|
|
| Add a soft line white edge stroke one pixel thick to "bring
out" the letters: |
|
|
| Finally add a 65% transparent drop shadow of 2 pixels wide
with a spread of 7 pixels and 315 degree "lighting": |
